The Story Behind
Aik Atelier
Aik Atelier was founded in Lahore by three brothers whose initials are the A, the I and the K of the brand name. That name also means "one" in Urdu, a coincidence the founders leaned into deliberately: a label that is both a signature and a declaration of singular purpose.
The family has been in the embroidery trade since 1970. The brand is now in its third generation. In craft terms, the third generation is where institutional knowledge stops being taught through instruction and starts transmitting through proximity: the correct tension on a resham silk thread, the weight distribution of zardozi metalwork across a dupatta border, the backing structure that distinguishes a hand-finished piece from a machine-approximate one. These details are visible to anyone who holds both versions.
